THE BIHL TRUST LIGHTS IT UP BLUE FOR AUTISM

The BIHL Trust remains steadfast and committed to making a positive impact, as well as a true and lasting difference for the people and communities of Botswana. In this vein, The BIHL Group’s Corporate Social Investment (CSI) arm, BIHL Trust, commemorated World Autism Day through an Autism Awareness Walk in collaboration with Autism Botswana on the 2nd of April.

The BIHL Trust in collaboration with Autism Botswana marched in solidarity with the autism community and supporters in the 3km Autism Awareness Walk, which was centered within the Central Business District (CBD) area. The BIHL Trust has partnered with Botswana Insurance Company (BIC) to assist Autism Botswana in raising awareness on Autism Spectrum Disorder. The Autism Awareness Walk is one of the initiatives of The Trust to promote awareness and inclusion for people living with and affected by Autism.

The BIHL Trust’s Ngwatshi Enyatseng, a Trustee, said, “The Autism Awareness Walk is in line with our continued commitment to support various CSI initiatives to improve the lives of people in our surrounding communities. Our people are the reason as to why we exist and for whom we exist. Therefore it is imperative that we play our role in supporting and uplifting the communities and people around us. BIHL Trust, in association with Botswana Insurance Company (BIC), is proud to collaborate with Botswana Insurance Company (BIC) to support Autism Botswana and their efforts in helping to raise awareness, and understanding on Autism Spectrum Disorder.”

Established in 2007, the BIHL Trust was formed to make a positive impact with communities in need, through positive and sustainable development initiatives. Thus, 1% of BIHL Group’s post-tax profits are channeled towards The BIHL Trust, to be used to make meaningful impact across a variety of spheres. This includes: Education, Social Upliftment, Economic Empowerment, Public Health, Recreation and Conservation of the Environment.

Concluded Enyatseng, “As The BIHL Trust, we extend our solidarity to all those affected. As The BIHL Trust, we remain committed to engineering legacies for our people and our local communities, nothing gives us greater pleasure than this opportunity to actively contribute and play a role in driving awareness and inclusion for people living with autism. We will continue to light it up blue not only in our offices, but in our homes, and in our hearts.
