BOTSWANA LIFE EMERGES THE ULTIMATE CHEF IN #BATTLEOFTHECEOS AT “THE COOK-OFF

The much anticipated edition of The Cook-Off amongst leadership of The BIHL Group, dubbed #BattleOfTheCEOs, was  brought to full flame. The Twitter engagement this yesterday, was the culmination of much excitement, banter and competition. The BIHL Group CEO, Catherine Lesetedi went up against Ronald Samuels of Botswana Life and Newton Jazire of Botswana Insurance Company (BIC) in the ultimate challenge of who can whip up the best BW beef. Botswana Life CEO, Ronald Samuels, walked away as the ultimate winner of the day, and the most beloved as Twitter users would have it.

Challenges were thrown, allegations of bought votes through hampers, and true psychological warfare in this most competitive of editions of the popular weekly Twitter culinary showdown. The prize for Botswana Life for their efforts? Glory, pride, and of course P15,000 raised from across all three businesses to be directed towards a charity of their choosing, in line with the CSI strategic focus areas of the Group. The selected charity by Botswana Life is Cancer Association Botswana, whom the business already has a strong history of supporting, with more details to be shared in due course.”

The BIHL Group CEO, Catherine Lesetedi, said: “A hearty congratulations to Ronald and the Botswana Life team and I commend all who have been involved. All’s fair in love and war as they say, and despite the competitive banter, we remain one united family and proud of the fun and camaraderie this platform has further fueled. There has been much good coming out of this, for a local charity will benefit from the pledges we have all made, and we have all worked to use proudly Botswana products in our culinary efforts and support small proudly Botswana businesses throughout the journey. This reflects our belief and purpose as a proudly Botswana financial services institution to do good, and deliver sustainable impact.”

Supporting the #PushaBW cause, Botswana flavour was clear to see both literally and figuratively, from Lesetedi’s leteisi chef jacket to the wide array of local ingredients including local fruit and vegetable vendors’ products, and brands such as Sescenti Salts, Yamikani Foods, St Louis Lager and Earth Vitamins beef.

The #BattleOfTheCEOs was notably held on the actual 45th anniversary of The BIHL Group, as the business commemorates 45 years of working to engineer legacies for and with Batswana, creating an even stronger future on the foundation of 45 years of heritage.
