DRIVING BOTSWANA’S FUTURE TO THE FINISH LINE: BIHL TRUST DONATES SPORT KIT TOWARDS SPECIAL OLYMPICS BOTSWANA

Gaborone In continued pursuit of uplifting communities across Botswana, The BIHL Group’s Corporate Social Investment (CSI) arm, The BIHL Trust, has donated sporting kits to Special Olympics Botswana. The handover was made on the 5th of March 2019 in Gaborone, ahead of the team’s departure to Abu Dhabi to compete in the Special Olympics being held between 11 and 24 March 2019.

The BIHL Trust’s Ngwatshi Enyatseng, a Trustee, said, “As The BIHL Trust, we are passionate about contributing to real progress, and believe this to be a wholly relevant platform to do so. The sporting kits are valued at P80,000.00, and yet the potential impact, we believe, priceless. We stand behind the team as they set out to fly our National flag high.”

Established in 2007, the BIHL Trust was formed to make a positive impact with communities in need, through positive and sustainable development initiatives. Thus, 1% of BIHL Group’s post-tax profits are channeled towards The BIHL Trust, to be used to make meaningful impact across a variety of spheres. This includes: Education, Social Upliftment, Economic Empowerment, Public Health, Recreation and Conservation of the Environment. 48 athletes will benefit from the handover made.

Concluded Enyatseng, “We take great pride in the partnerships we have established with various organisations over the years and the positive contributions we have made and continue to make across the country. The youth of Botswana have a special role in our history to play and an important role in the legacy of our Nation. As The BIHL Trust, it is of great importance that we play our part in creating more sporting opportunities for future generations. We have high hopes for our team of champions and strongly believe they will make us proud.”
