CONVENING BOTSWANA’S FINANCIAL SECTOR FOR INCLUSIVE AND SUSTAINABLE GROWTH – THE BIHL GROUP ANNUAL GLOBAL FINANCIAL SUMMIT RETURNS IN NOVEMBER

In continued efforts to uplift communities and advance the socio-economic development and growth of the Nation, The Botswana Insurance Holdings Limited (BIHL) Group will host the second edition of the Global Financial Summit on the 5th of November 2019. The highly anticipated Summit will be held at the Gaborone International Convention Centre (GICC).

This year, the Summit will be held under the umbrella theme “The Role of Financial Institutions in Building an Inclusive and Sustainable Economy.” The theme was chosen with a view towards driving collaborative efforts for the long-term success and impact-ability of the financial services sector in shaping the wider socio-economic wellbeing of Botswana.

The BIHL Group CEO, Catherine Lesetedi, said: “As The BIHL Group, we remain cognisant of the role we play in socio-economic development, growing our sector and engineering the legacies of our people. Through this Summit, we converge both the public and private financial sector, gathering not only local but industry leaders and thinkers across the African continent.  After a successful inaugural Summit in 2018, we believe this is a platform that truly stands to wield great impact as an opportunity for dialogue from key minds and leaders which is then translated into meaningful and substantive action for growth and prosperity in our sector and across Botswana.”

The selection of speakers comprises veteran and seasoned experts in the financial services industry on both a local and continental scale. Speakers include:

Concluded Lesetedi, “Just as we have a great deal in Botswana to teach others in the region, we also stand to learn a lot from others and what is being done in their markets. Thus, our chosen speakers and indeed audience, have been carefully selected to align with the theme. As The BIHL Group and on behalf of our subsidiaries – Botswana Life, Bifm, BIC and Legal Guard - we leverage the Strength in Numbers of our industry and our people to help drive true economic change and development, on par with global standards for our Nation.
